Less well known than Messiah, but arguably even more dramatic and exciting, Handel’s Israel in Egypt tells the story of the Israelites’ escape from slavery under Pharaoh.

The music vividly depicts plagues of flies, frogs and locusts, and ends with a great hymn of praise to God for the Israelites’ delivery from the pursuing Egyptian army.
